I am inspired by this Weekly Photo Challenge to not only look at a single shot two ways, but to look at the two sides of our dogs
We try to keep them balanced. Every morning and afternoon they get nice walks around the neighborhood, and on weekends we try to take them out for all day adventures. Our reward is getting to see them in their relaxed and balanced state of mind. Don’t get me wrong, I love the energy that they bring to our lives! Even if their rough play sometimes gets too loud and messes up the blankets (Charley and Dixie getting fierce above), or they can’t contain themselves and have to bark at something or another. They teach us patience and keep us on our toes. But there is no greater satisfaction than watching them stretch out and relax on their blankets, hearing them make little “yips” and growls in their sleep, feeling them lean in as we brush the loose hair from their coat, and spoiling them in their calm state with rawhides or their favorite elk antler (Charley enjoying his below). I like experiencing both sides of our dogs, and I don’t think I would want it any other way.
